Winding Drives and a new community trail provide filtered views of the lake below and follow the flow of the land in serving the Lake Homes.

Lake Homes will be arranged in "Settings" of varying sizes. Settings will share inviting arrival courts and be distinguished by semi-private gathering areas and enclosed garden courtyards.

Lake Homes will enjoy privacy and connectivity by virtue of open woodland buffers and trails providing linkages to the lake front gathering area, forested parklands and golf grounds beyond. A short walk to the lakefront recreational and social center of CCNC, this location provides a convenient and private residential retreat.

This property has always been deserving of a special level of planning as it represents the best of the Sandhills region.

The Neighborhood’s elevation and rolling terrain afford views of Lake Dornoch throughout.
The Plan features a generous amount of dedicated open space and a trail that will extend throughout the 125-acre East Lake property.

Composed of a compacted base of bluestone gravel fines, the trail will interlace the Property’s varied landscapes and link walkers, joggers and bikers to the Lakefront Gathering Area and Nature Overlook.

The Lakefront Gathering Area will feature seating around fire pits and a dock suitable for canoe and kayak launches. Families also may enjoy simply taking in the long views across Lake Dornoch.
The Nature Overlook will include a platform providing views of the surrounding woodlands and lake slough below.
